Walk Host: Liz

Coach trip: 08:00 corner of Midstocket Road and Gordondale Road.

A circular walk to the summit of the Corbett Sgor Mor from the Linn of Dee car park. Initially heading west along the north bank of the river Dee, past the White Bridge. At the Chest of Dee we strike up the hill in a fairly straight NNE line to the summit ridge, then walk west to the summit of  Sgor Mor. With a bit of luck, spectacular views over the Dee Valley, the Lairig Ghru and the high mountains to the west and north will be enjoyed. A three km easy walk to the east along the ridge to Sgor Dubh, then we walk south east downhill for home, the bus and the barbecue. 12 miles in length with an ascent of 600m.

This should give us plenty time to have our summer barbecue before heading back on the bus to get to Aberdeen around 9pm. The club will supply the barbecue materials and burgers, sausages and buns, maybe some sauce too. Bring your own beer and drinks and other such like, which can be left on the bus for your return.

For those who want an easy day and a longer barbie, there are also lots of shorter walks around the area, it's a hillwalking central hub.
