Starting at NJ299060 on the A939, the track starts northward before shortly turning southeast. When the track ends, continue SE then east over Scraulac, Craignagour Hill and Cairn Mona Gowan, crossing the Slacks of Glencarvie then turn to descend the south ridge of Mullachdubh to the col then climbing the NW ridge of Morven to the summit at 377040, 872m. Descend eastward to Balhennie, a ruined farmhouse then on to a minor road taking you to the A97 and the bus.
Other routes, such as round Loch Kinord or up to Ballater and taking the service bus back to Dinnet, are options which can be decided on the day.
The day will finish at the Holly Tree Bar at the back of the Loch Kinord Hotel with a late afternoon informal plated main meal (typically, curry, casserole, etc) and choice of desserts (help yourself) & coffee. You can share stories of adventures from some of our early members. Please bring along any old photographs of walks/weekends. If you can send them in digitally, we could set up a slideshow.
