Membership and Joining the Club

Membership of the Club currently costs £30 with the subscription year starting in April. Some reductions may be available if you are joining part way through the year. Guests and prospective members are welcome to come on one or two walks, but would then be expected to join if they wish to continue walking with the Club. This one or two walks guideline does not apply to people who are lapsed members - if you want to walk with the Club again, great, but please re-join first.

To join please contact the Club's Treasurer via our e-mail address ( and request a membership form. This should be returned to the Treasurer at the address provided on the form along with electronic payment, a £30 cheque or a copy of a standing order mandate.

Part of your subscription goes to the Mountaineering Council of Scotland (MCofS), of which you become an affiliate member - benefits include personal civil liability insurance and the MCofS magazine. If you are already a MCofS member through another club or directly, you can apply to MCofS for a refund.

In return for joining the Club new members will receive the Club card for the subscription year. This will secure discounts at most local hillwalking shops.
