The Stockets are a sociable group who
go hillwalking throughout the year, generally in the Grampian area and
other hills within a day's travel of Aberdeen.
The Club runs a monthly
day walk on a Saturday or Sunday, using a coach, which allows for
'through' walks, starting and finishing at different places. Typically between 15 and
20 go on each walk.
The winter walks usually cover 8
to 10 miles while summer walks tend to be longer to make use of the
daylight hours available and are generally between 15 and 20 miles. A shorter lower
route is generally
available as an alternative walk. The Club also organise weekend meets and a variety of
social events.
By providing a choice of two
or even sometimes three walks
the Club aims to cater for a range of fitness and ability, but all get
together on the coach and during the pub stop on the way home.
